Maev Kerri is an Ambassador for the inaugural Ocean Lovers Festival being held between 11-14 April 2019 in Bondi.
The Ocean Lovers Festival is a genuine Australian response to the plight of our oceans. It aims to be a fun and upbeat event, focussed on Australia’s love of ocean sport and recreation, to one of the world’s most iconic ocean beach locations.
The Ocean Lovers Festival is the one place to come and learn something new, join the fun and celebrate our oceans. It will be a multi-channel showcase of solutions to ocean recovery, cool products, projects and ideas for everyday living as an Ocean Lover. There are several events including maritime sports, talks, films, eco markets and more.
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Mission Blue, Sydney Institute of Marine Science, Australian Museum, and Sydney Sea Life Aquarium have joined the event along with the Surf Life Saving Clubs, Surfrider Foundation, and local board and surfrider clubs. Key luminaries such as Australian filmmaker George Miller, actor Hugh Jackman, shark expert Valerie Taylor, marine biologist Dr Sylvia Earle and impact filmmaker and environmentalist Celine Cousteau have lent their support.
Tourism Australia and the NSW Minister for the Environment have endorsed the Festival, which will be a major focal event, generating widespread public and media attention that will influence tomorrow’s consumers as well as decision-makers in both public and private sectors to learn from each other and engage in meaningful, solutions-focused dialogue.
Now is the time that business and the environmental sector are coming together with a public desire to do better for our coast and oceans and with climate now a board-level topic, our event is a great fit for any organisation wishing to connect emotionally and practically with their audience, associate their brand as a force for good and showcase their leadership through alignment with the Ocean Lovers Festival ethos.
